Notice of KDC Education and Membership Meeting!
We will be holding our September IN PERSON!!! Education and Membership Meeting in CRANBROOK September 22nd,23rd and 24th.
The rooms at the Heritage Inn in Cranbrook are $90.00 per night plus tax (paid by the locals for the 21st and 22nd). There are 20 rooms set aside for the KDC please book one of those. 803 Cranbrook Street North Cranbrook BC phone: 250-489-4301 or 1-888-888-4374
The KDC will as always pay for one night hotel (September 23rd) for anyone having to travel more than 2 hours to attend
Breakfast is included in the cost of the room and the KDC will be providing lunch Sept 22 – a selection of sandwiches soup of the day salads and cookies and squares – Sept 23 – a selection of sliced meats, cheeses, sandwich toppings a variety of breads and rolls with soup of the day salads and cookies and squares – Please let us know of any allergies, including gluten issues ASAP
If there is a delegate attending who just happens to have a birthday we might be able to arrange something special as well 🙂
As always the KDC will pay a $.20 mileage subsidy per local
EDUCATION September 22nd and 23rd
We (meaning Anita and Vanessa) have set up an amazing mental health education that will be held over the two days. Unfortunately we will only be able to have 20 participants, so in order to make it fair we will be accepting one from each local with anyone else who wishes to attend being put on a waiting list. There will be a $75.00 charge because this is a workshop put on by The Mental Health Commission of Canada and the usual charge is $275.00. Thank you Vanessa for picking up the rest of the cost 🙂

MEMBERSHIP MEETING September 24th
We are hoping that we will fill out our executive with elections for the following positions:
Treasurer
Diversity Rep
Young Worker Rep
Debate and Vote on the Bylaws for the final time (we can always hope)
Get volunteers to lay wreaths on Remembrance day
As usually written reports are happily accepted, they can then go into the agenda for the meeting
